Role Description The Vice President of Market Insights is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading market intelligence and strategic insight initiatives for Temasek Holdings’ activities in Romania and surrounding regions. This position oversees the collection, analysis, and synthesis of market, industry, and financial data to inform business development, M&A advisory, and strategic decision-making. Day-to-day tasks include building and maintaining market models, preparing insight reports and presentations, identifying emerging trends, and supporting deal teams with data-driven perspectives on industrial sectors such as construction, infrastructure, and Oil & Gas. The Vice President will collaborate closely with advisory, finance, and project teams to shape go-to-market strategies, assess investment opportunities, and prioritize target markets and assets. The role also involves mentoring junior analysts, enhancing research frameworks and tools, and contributing to client-facing materials that articulate clear, evidence-based recommendations.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills with experience in market research, data interpretation, and building structured insights for strategic decisions. Solid finance capabilities, including financial modeling, valuation, and understanding of M&A transactions and investment analysis. Background in sales, business development, or client advisory, with the ability to translate market insights into commercial opportunities and clear narratives. Exposure to trading or capital markets, with familiarity in assessing risk, pricing, and market dynamics in industrial or related sectors. Proven project management skills, including planning, stakeholder coordination, and delivery of complex, multi-workstream initiatives on time. Experience in industrial sectors (e.g., infrastructure, construction, Oil & Gas, manufacturing) or emerging markets is highly beneficial. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; additional regional languages are an advantage. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across time zones. Advanced degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field preferred; significant relevant experience may substitute for formal education. Demonstrated leadership in developing research frameworks, mentoring team members, and enhancing insight generation processes.
