Weekend Commerce Editor – Contract
Job Description:
- Act as lead editor for Saturday commerce broadcast segments
- Support the digital production of articles tied to broadcast coverage
- Assign, edit and refresh multiple gift guides daily during peak holiday shopping seasons
- Cover lifestyle commerce categories including fashion, home, parenting, beauty and food
- Assign and edit evergreen refreshes, roundups, explainers and other search topics during off-peak periods
- Monitor story performance using analytics programs
- Make editorial decisions based on traffic, conversion patterns and Audience Development insight
- Work across Shop TODAY digital and broadcast on a Thursday-to-Saturday schedule
Requirements:
- 2+ years editing experience, preferably in the lifestyle space
- Experience utilizing SEO best practices and tools
- Strong understanding of the digital lifestyle space, including beauty, fashion, home and fitness
- Familiarity with a news cycle and deadline-driven environment
- Comfortable editing quickly and accurately with minimal supervision
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- E-commerce experience is a plus
