WordPress Web Developer – Contract
Job Description:
- Own ongoing maintenance of our WordPress website, including updates, fixes, and improvements
- Execute cosmetic and structural site changes while protecting the integrity of the existing codebase
- Regularly evaluate WordPress plugins, assess vulnerabilities, and apply patches or replacements as needed
- Support and extend a multilingual website, including adding new languages with proper SEO structure and localization best practices
- Ensure the site is optimized for organic search, including traditional SEO foundations and emerging AI-driven search considerations
- Proactively flag risks, performance issues, or technical debt and recommend practical solutions.
Requirements:
- Senior or strong intermediate WordPress developer with hands-on experience maintaining production websites
- Deep understanding of WordPress core, themes, plugins, and custom development
- Strong grasp of website security, vulnerability management, and performance optimization
- Experience working with multilingual WordPress setups and SEO implications across languages
- Solid SEO knowledge, including technical SEO, structured data, and AI-influenced search visibility
- Comfortable collaborating with hosting providers and internal stakeholders
- Clear communicator who works independently and flags issues early.
