Business Development Manager – Japan

• Position Title: Business Development Manager – Japan
• Work Location: Remote (Must reside in Tokyo or Osaka; Tokyo preferred)

Core Responsibilities

1. Market Strategy and Sales Expansion
   • Formulate and implement the sales and business development plan for the company’s full product portfolio in the Japan market.
   • Cover fire departments, emergency rescue agencies, industrial customers, channel partners, and other target customers across relevant industries.
   • Analyze Japan market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs; identify potential opportunities and drive sales growth for the full product portfolio.
2. Customer Relationship Management
   • Establish and maintain long-term cooperative relationships with industry associations, government agencies, large end-customers, distributors, and cross-industry customers in Japan.
   • Develop and manage local channel partners and distributors to improve market coverage.
3. Cross-departmental Collaboration
   • Coordinate with product, technical, and supply chain teams to customize localized solutions and ensure prompt response to customer needs.
4. Goal Achievement and Review
   • Achieve annual sales targets and regularly submit Japan market analysis reports and action plans.

Qualifications

1. Educational Background
   • Bachelor’s degree or above, majoring in business management, marketing, engineering, fire engineering, or related fields.
2. Work Experience
   • At least 3 years of B2B sales experience, with proven experience in the Japan market.
   • Demonstrated experience in distributor/channel partner management, including developing, onboarding, and managing local distributors.
   • Experience in fire protection or industrial protection is preferred but not mandatory.
3. Core Competencies
   • Excellent business acumen, capable of independently developing new customers and managing complex projects.
   • Familiar with Japan’s business culture, local channels, and customer landscape.
   • Fluent in Japanese and English for business communication; strong cross-cultural communication skills.
   • Able to work effectively in a remote setup with strong self-management.
   • Be able to adapt to frequent business trips within Japan.

Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or related field; 3+ years B2B sales experience in Japan; distributor management; fluent Japanese and English; ability to travel frequently within Japan.
