Cyber Security Consultant
Cybersecurity Consultant 2+ Months contract 100% Remote We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Consultant to assess cybersecurity risks, identify vulnerabilities, recommend security controls, and support penetration testing and incident response activities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on cybersecurity experience along with the ability to communicate security risks and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments, vulnerability assessments, and security reviews. Perform penetration testing to identify security weaknesses and recommend remediation. Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies, policies, procedures, and security controls. Provide guidance on cybersecurity best practices, frameworks, and industry standards. Monitor and analyze security incidents and assist with incident response and recovery. Work with security technologies including SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability management tools. Collaborate with technical and business teams to integrate security controls across systems and processes. Provide cybersecurity recommendations and communicate security risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Support cybersecurity awareness and security best-practice initiatives. Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, technologies, and attack techniques.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field preferred. Proven experience as a Cybersecurity Consultant, Security Consultant, Cybersecurity Analyst , or similar role. Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, security controls, and industry best practices. Hands-on experience with penetration testing and vulnerability assessments . Experience with SIEM, firewalls, IDS/IPS, security monitoring, and vulnerability management technologies . Knowledge of security/compliance standards such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, GDPR, NIST, or similar frameworks . Experience supporting cybersecurity incidents and remediation activities. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and client-facing skills. CISSP, CISM, CEH , or related cybersecurity certifications are highly desirable.
