Role Description The Database Administrator is a full-time remote role responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s database systems. This position involves monitoring database performance, implementing backup and recovery strategies, and ensuring data integrity and security. Day-to-day tasks include designing and updating database structures, configuring and managing replication, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams to support application needs. The Database Administrator will also assist in capacity planning, documenting procedures, and implementing best practices to ensure reliable, scalable, and efficient data environments.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Database Administration and Databases to manage and maintain production and development environments.
• Candidates should possess capabilities in Database Design to create efficient, scalable, and well-structured schemas and data models.
• Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting to diagnose performance issues, resolve errors, and optimize queries and configurations.
• Candidates should possess experience with Replication to configure, monitor, and maintain replicated databases for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Relevant experience with SQL and at least one major RDBMS (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) is beneficial.
• Knowledge of backup strategies, security best practices, and performance tuning techniques is beneficial.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment are beneficial.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is beneficial.
