Electrical or Mechanical Commissioning Engineer
Sycamore Mission Critical is seeking an entry-level Electrical or Mechanical Commissioning Engineer. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be expected to work closely with subcontractors and vendors on construction sites to perform functional testing of various electrical or mechanical systems. This testing ensures that the systems operate according to design criteria and meet the high standards required by Sycamore Mission Critical's clients. Our clients include high-end financial services companies who rely on reliable operating systems for both their data centers and office spaces. These companies demand precision and reliability in their mechanical systems to ensure uninterrupted operations. Due to this, attention to detail is a critical requirement for any Commissioning Engineer. You will need verify that each component and system functions correctly and adheres to the specified design criteria. Job Duties Include Prepare commissioning plans Prepare commissioning specifications Review equipment submittals and controls sequences of operation Develop pre-functional checklists for subcontractors to complete prior to functional testing Develop functional test procedures to be filled out by commissioning engineer Conduct equipment installation and construction site inspections Prepare and issue construction field reports Execute and witness performance functional testing of mechanical systems Develop and maintain commissioning documentation including issues log, systems manual and commissioning report Conduct retro-commissioning of existing buildings for NYC Local Law 87 compliance Support energy audits and detailed feasibility studies Provide troubleshooting and facilities support assistance Provide in-depth analysis of mechanical systems Witness and review testing and balancing process Analyze temperature and humidity data Review mechanical design documentation Equipment to be Commissioned Uninterruptible Power Supply Static Transfer Switch Panelboards Lighting Control Systems Generators Switchboards Switchgears Automatic Transfer Switches Variable Air Volume Unit Fan Powered Box Pump Transfer Fan Fan Coil Unit Water Source Heat Pump Chiller Linear Floor Grill Beam Air Handler Unit Cooling Tower Heat Exchanger Make Up Air Unit Roof Top Unit
Minimum Qualifications
U.S. Bachelor’s degree Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or the foreign degree equivalent Equivalent military or maritime experience in a technical mechanical systems field considered in lieu of educational requirements 0-3 years’ experience in the job offered Experience with functional performance testing on mechanical systems Experience performing commissioning design drawing and specification reviews Experience troubleshooting facility issues and implementing corrective actions This is a full-time position. Benefits include a health insurance plan, a 401K profit sharing plan, and PTO. The position offers competitive compensation with an anticipated annual salary range of $65,000 to $85,000, based on candidate experience. Location - Dallas, TX (Remote Position with over 75% Travel Required)
