Job Details: Level: Entry, Job Location: WACO HOME OFFICE - Waco, TX 76712, Position Type: Full Time, Salary Range: $14.00 - $18.00 Hourly, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Entry Level, TMD is looking for a few individuals to join our team in our Manufacturing Team as general production workers or wiring technicians. The ideal candidate will have previous manufacturing/production experience and/or wiring experience (such as reading wiring diagrams and terminating electrical circuits), a great work ethic and be a person of great integrity. ENTRY LEVEL - DAY SHIFT - MONDAY-FRIDAY - CLIMATE CONTROLLED PRODUCTION LAB $14 - 18 TO START - DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS The general production worker will perform production labor work in a high voltage testing lab or perform wiring technician duties while building custom primary and secondary meter sets and/or transockets. May also assist with packing/shipping of meters and meter related products. Duties may include, but are not limited to, cleaning, visually inspecting, and operating testing equipment/machines to test a variety of products such as protective equipment used in the electric utility and commercial electric industries, along with packing the products to prepare for shipment, reading wiring diagrams, and wiring custom products. Job duties may also include receiving and washing/cleaning of products to be tested. Entry level position and pay. Will train. Work hours are generally M-F, 8 am - 4:30pm, INCLUDES TWO 15 MIN PAID BREAKS AND A 30 MIN UNPAID LUNCH BREAK. Overtime may be available/required during peak business times. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Cleaning protective equipment - receiving and manually washing/cleaning of products to be tested or operating industrial machinery to wash/dry products. Visual inspection of protective equipment. Operating machines to test a variety of protective equipment used in the electric utility and commercial electric industries Packing of protective equipment products for shipping. Detailed record keeping. Warehouse duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders, packing and shipping orders Will record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records Wiring and building custom metering products. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or as may be required. REQUIREMENTS: HS Diploma/GED Stable Multi-year Work History Ability to lift 50 lbs Prefer previous production/assembly experience in a manufacturing environment Reliable transportation to and from work each day Attention to Detail Accurate record keeping and documentation skills Acceptable near vision (with or without correction) to be able to read small numbers on products and to be able to identify defects in products Dependability, Reliability and Dedication Ability to learn and perform complex tasks Good Communication Skills (speaking, reading and writing) Ability to stand on feet, bend or stoop for a prolonged period of time Ability to carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner Additional Requirements: Background check clearance including drug screening and I-9 documentation as required by law Texas Meter & Device Company (TMD) has been in continuous operations since 1937 and is the leading supplier of metering services to the utility industry in Texas and other states.
