Growth Engineer (Outbound)
About the Role
This is a ground-floor chance to build and own the outbound engine at a profitable, growing SaaS company. The product already wins: most qualified leads turn into customers, and those customers stick around. Now the company needs someone to create many more of those conversations. As the first dedicated growth hire, you’ll design the motion from scratch, choose your stack and report directly to the founder. You’ll have rich customer data to work from and uncapped upside tied to the pipeline you build.
Responsibilities
Build the company’s first repeatable outbound motion, targeting wholesalers, manufacturers and distributors Build and maintain ICP account and contact lists using tools like Clay, Apollo or similar, along with tech-stack and firmographic signals Write, run and test personalized multi-step outbound sequences, and iterate on reply and meeting rates Turn customer data, case studies and top-customer profiles into vertical-specific messaging Book qualified meetings and hand them to the closing seller, and run early conversations when needed Report pipeline metrics to the founder: accounts touched, replies, meetings and opportunities Required Skills You’ve built an outbound or lead-gen motion largely on your own at a B2B company, and you can show the numbers: meetings booked, pipeline created, reply rates Hands-on experience with modern prospecting and data tools, plus AI-driven list building, enrichment and personalization Strong writing skills, and you use data to refine your messaging You’re self-directed and comfortable owning a channel with no existing playbook Preferred Skills Nice to have: experience selling or marketing to wholesale, distribution or manufacturing companies, or at B2B commerce or ERP-adjacent SaaS companies.
About the Company
We’re hiring for a profitable, founder-led B2B SaaS company that’s been in business for about 10 years. Its platform helps wholesalers, manufacturers and distributors sell online and manage orders, and it serves a few hundred customers with strong retention. The team is about 17 people, fully remote and AI-forward, using Claude, Gemini and OpenAI every day.
