Summary:

The Infringement Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing the daily operations of the Infringement team, with a focus on the proactive prevention of, and the accurate and timely resolution of copyright, trademark, and impersonation claims. This individual is responsible for managing a team of specialists, ensuring high-quality decision-making, and maintaining consistency with internal legal guidance and platform policy.

The Infringement Manager will work cross-functionally with Legal, Creator Services, and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment, transparency, and effective handling of sensitive or high-priority cases. This position is ideal for someone who is not only deeply knowledgeable about digital copyright enforcement workflows but also brings strong leadership skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset. A successful candidate will be proactive, solutions-oriented, and passionate about protecting artists while upholding the integrity of our platform.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee a team of Infringement Specialists, providing daily guidance, coaching, and regular performance feedback to promote growth, accountability, and quality work.
  • Monitor queue activity across multiple infringement categories, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent resolution of copyright, trademark, and impersonation claims.
  • Act as the operational guide for the Infringement team, including team check-ins, claim reviews, and handling urgent or escalated issues.
  • Serve as a liaison to the Legal team, escalating high-risk or delicate matters and ensuring claim outcomes remain aligned with legal guidance and platform policy.
  • Serve as a key partner for infringement prevention, partnering directly with the Quality Control team as needed to help design, evaluate, and improve prevention tools and systems that stop infringement before claims are filed.
  • Work with Creator Services to address artist concerns and take care of high-sensitivity cases, including those involving priority artists.
  • Coordinate with internal partners such as Legal, Finance, Engineering, Fraud, Quality Control and Support to ensure operational alignment and assistance for cross-functional workflows.
  • Review high-impact cases, providing case-level insights and quality assurance to maintain enforcement consistency and integrity.
  • Own team performance metrics and reporting, using data to identify trends, improve operational performance, establish KPIs, and inform team priorities.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of workflows, documentation, and solution-making tools in collaboration with Legal Operations.
  • Drive onboarding, training, and ongoing development of team members, reinforcing quality standards, best practices, and continuous learning.
  • Direct or help with initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, reducing error rates, and scaling high-quality enforcement practices.
  • Stay informed on changes in copyright and platform enforcement trends, sharing relevant updates with the team and applying learnings to improve outcomes.
  • Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in copyright enforcement, digital rights management, trust & safety, legal operations, content moderation, or a closely related field, including significant experience within the music, digital media, or online platform industry.
  • 3+ years of people management experience, including coaching, performance management, staff development, and guiding high-performing operational teams.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), copyright and trademark enforcement, takedown procedures, and digital rights management—particularly within the music, content distribution, or online platform space.
  • Excellent organizational, investigative, and critical-thinking know-how with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Proven experience handling delicate and confidential information with discretion, maintaining a calm, solutions-oriented approach in high-pressure scenarios.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, with the propensity to provide clear documentation and work effectively across departments.
  • Familiarity with Airtable, Google Workspace, Claude Code, Zendesk, Confluence and other operational or legal tools used for tracking, analysis, and documentation.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset with an aptitude for protecting creators and enforcing policy with fairness, clarity, and consistency.
