Role Description The Loan Originator is a full-time, remote role responsible for guiding borrowers through the mortgage process from initial inquiry to closing. Day-to-day tasks include consulting with prospective clients to understand their financial goals, collecting and reviewing documentation, and recommending appropriate loan products. The Loan Originator will collaborate with underwriting and processing teams, manage application pipelines, and ensure all files meet regulatory and company standards. This role also involves maintaining regular communication with clients, answering questions, and providing status updates to deliver a smooth and informed borrowing experience. The Loan Originator is expected to meet production goals while maintaining high levels of accuracy, compliance, and customer service.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Loan Origination and Loans, with experience guiding borrowers from application through closing. Proficiency in Mortgages and Finance, including understanding of various loan products, interest rates, and affordability calculations. Familiarity with Underwriting principles and documentation requirements to prepare complete and compliant loan files. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in clear, accessible terms. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple applications and deadlines in a remote work environment. Comfort using mortgage software, CRM systems, and digital tools for document collection and pipeline management. Relevant licensing and registration as required by state and federal regulations (e.g., active NMLS registration). Prior experience in mortgage sales, loan origination, or a related financial services role is strongly preferred.
