Nuclear Test Director

Nuclear Test Director – Southport, NC – 3 years ReNuke Services is seeking a Nuclear Test Director for our client’s site in Southport, NC! Description: This position reports to the Manager- Nuclear Planning and Integration. The Test Director Review WOs for adequate craft instruction to achieve test acceptance criteria. Review procedures for adequate test steps to achieve test acceptance criteria. Develop integrated test plans. Arrangement for appropriate level of management involvement for Infrequently Performed Test or Evolution. Coordinate with Operations for alignment of systems and verification plant parameters supports performance of test. Coordinate with Vendors or Responsible Engineers in determination of acceptability of test results. Coordinate with plant IT group for gather printouts of plant data. Coordinate with craft for installation or removal of test equipment. Reviews and provides inputs to PMT and return to service testing objectives and requirements on the front end of the project. Reviews and provides inputs to PMT and return to service testing plans during design development (~50% design phase and during 70 and 100% review cycles). Responsibilities: Review WOs for adequate craft instruction to achieve test acceptance criteria, reviews procedures for adequate test steps to achieve test acceptance criteria and develops integrated test plans. Makes arrangements for appropriate level of management involvement for Infrequently Performed Test or Evolution (IPTE) and coordinates with Operations for alignment of systems and verification of plant parameters to support performance of test. Coordinate with Vendors and/or Responsible Engineers in determination of acceptability of test results and with craft for installation or removal of test equipment. Reviews and provides inputs to PMT and return to service testing objectives and requirements on the front end of the project. Ensures compliance with all related federal and state laws and regulations and Duke Energy business standards. Required/Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma 5+ years in a power plant environment Working knowledge of standard office software and work management systems, (Microsoft Reporting Services, Office, Word, Excel, Access, etc). Must posses electrical circuitry and electrical troubleshooting knowledge Additional Preferred Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent experience Knowledge in craft areas such as electrical, I&C, mechanical, civil. Must have excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to function effectively in a diverse support organization. Technical acuity to aid in the understanding of the more complex items to be purchased Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and proven desire to learn Ability to work in a team environment Strong multitasking skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Working Conditions: Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a Nuclear Power facility : 95% field-based role; typical schedule is 4x10s, with 6–7 day weeks possible during outages. Test Director directs and oversees testing They communicate what testing needs to be completed and ensure it is properly executed. Works closely with Planning, Operations, and Engineering to ensure the work is accurately planned and the appropriate testing is identified. Directs MOD personnel to ensure appropriate testing is identified and performed. Strong electrical and controls knowledge is important, including the ability to read drawings and understand systems from top to bottom. Must understand how systems should operate and be able to direct troubleshooting when something does not respond as expected. Power plant experience is highly relevant; nuclear experience is not required. Operations experience is a strong plus. The role requires someone who understands system testing, controls, electrical systems, and field operations and can effectively coordinate the people performing the work.
