Product Engineer (m/f/d)

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

Do you enjoy taking ownership of challenging customer problems and want to help build secure communication for regulated markets? Then we’re looking for you as a Product Engineer (m/f/d) to become part of our team!

As a Product Engineer (m/f/d), you’ll work with large organizations in healthcare and other highly regulated industries, each with its own processes and systems. That means the work is rarely off-the-shelf: you’ll build customizations, customer-specific projects, and integrations into existing systems. We’re looking for someone who understands what customers really need and takes solutions all the way to production.

How we work

  • Duos and trios, not large teams. You own a project together with one or two other engineers, from requirements to operations. Nothing gets handed off to another team.

  • AI-native. Coding agents write most of our code. Your work is where the value is: sharpening the problem, defining architecture and specs, steering agents, and reviewing results critically.

  • Think first, then build. Specs and a clear architecture keep both humans and agents on track.

Your responsibilities

  • Clarify requirements directly with customers and turn them into actionable specs.

  • Decide with your team what to build and what not to build, including what stays customer-specific and what belongs in the product.

  • Build customizations and integrations into our customers' systems: APIs, workflows, identity and archiving systems.

  • Ship your solutions to production yourself, including in customer environments.

  • Improve our agent workflows and share what you learn.

  • Work across several projects and move to wherever you're needed most.

What you should bring

  • Several years of experience as a software engineer, ideally with product ownership.

  • You already work with coding agents every day and have your own workflows for it.

  • Sharp judgment in code review: you notice when generated code looks plausible but is wrong.

  • Solid experience in at least one of our languages: TypeScript, Flutter/Dart or Rust. With agent support, you'll pick up the others quickly.

  • Experience with integration projects: third-party APIs, incomplete documentation, and systems you didn't build yourself.

  • You enjoy writing: specs, decisions, messages to customers.

  • Fluent German and English.

Nice to have: experience in regulated markets (e.g. healthcare, public sector, finance, critical infrastructure) or in projects with enterprise customers

Why you should work at Famedly

  • Work at a fast-growing startup in an exciting phase — Since 2019 we have grown rapidly and we have big plans ahead! Famedly brought the first gematik-certified TI-Messenger to market, and with your help we will continue to evolve it and the platform behind it.

  • Meaningful ownership — Take responsibility for software people rely on every day in critical environments.

  • Varied customer work — Work across customers, industries, and integrations instead of focusing on a single product.

  • Small, close-knit teams — Work in a small team with short decision paths.

  • Modern AI tooling — Use up-to-date coding agents and models without having to count tokens.

  • Your perfect work-life balance — With remote work and flexible hours, you decide when and where you are most productive. You also have the option to work from our office in Berlin. Your choice: set up your home office or use a co-working space!

  • Attractive conditions — A permanent contract with competitive compensation, a training budget, work equipment of your choice, and 28 vacation days per year.

  • Flexible Benefits with Probonio – You receive a monthly wellbeing budget that you can use for vouchers from a wide range of food, mobility, retail, and lifestyle partners or for a discounted membership with Urban Sports Club.

  • A diverse and international team — We value an open mindset and a diverse, inclusive culture where everyone feels welcome.

  • Regular team events — Workshops, team-building activities, virtual game nights, and company events such as our Summer and Winter Summit.

We are a proud equal-opportunities employer and place great value on mutual tolerance and acceptance in a diverse environment. Everyone receives the same opportunities in our application process. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sounds good? What are you waiting for? Apply now! We are excited to get to know you! 🚀
