[Remote] Back End Developer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The company is building financial infrastructure for the construction industry by modernizing fragmented, legacy software systems. The Full-Stack / Backend Engineer will unify construction systems through APIs and data models, build integrations and customer-facing products, and improve the platform’s scalability, performance, reliability, and observability.
Responsibilities
- Unify dozens of fragmented construction systems behind one clean API and data model
- Build integrations with legacy and on-prem systems that may have limited APIs or documentation
- Scale a platform handling millions of API requests per day
- Improve performance, caching, reliability, testing, and observability
- Build customer-facing products that run on top of the company’s own APIs
- Ship production code quickly and work directly with customers and founders
Skills
- Roughly 1–10 years of software engineering experience
- Strong backend or full-stack engineering ability
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS
- Strong systems thinking and comfort with ambiguity
- High ownership, low ego, and a bias toward shipping
- Bay Area: In-office in San Francisco 5 days/week
- Exceptional new grads with strong internships, co-ops, or projects may be considered
- Outside Bay Area: Remote available for exceptional candidates
- Relocation and visa sponsorship available
