[Remote] Cloud Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. SoTalent is hiring an Azure Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and manage secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise cloud platforms on Microsoft Azure. The role is responsible for cloud architecture, infrastructure automation, DevOps, security, monitoring, reliability, operational support, and cloud cost optimization while collaborating with development, security, and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure
- Develop cloud-native solutions that support modern application architectures and business growth
- Build and maintain platform services that enable efficient application deployment and operations
- Drive continuous improvements in cloud infrastructure design, performance, and reliability
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using industry-standard automation tools
- Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployments
- Automate provisioning, configuration management, and operational workflows to improve efficiency and consistency
- Promote DevOps best practices across cloud engineering and development teams
- Implement cloud security controls, identity management solutions, and governance frameworks
- Ensure cloud environments adhere to security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
- Conduct security reviews and continuously strengthen platform security posture
- Establish policies and best practices for secure cloud operations
- Design and implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, networking, and platform issues in production environments
- Improve system resilience, disaster recovery capabilities, and operational readiness
- Support ongoing operational excellence through proactive maintenance and continuous improvement
- Monitor cloud resource utilization and implement performance optimization strategies
- Drive cost-efficiency initiatives through resource governance and cloud optimization practices
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance platform capabilities and business value
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
- 5+ years of cloud engineering experience, including significant hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in production environments
- Strong expertise across Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, identity, and Platform-as-a-Service solutions
- Experience developing and managing Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or similar technologies
- Hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating Kubernetes-based container platforms
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or comparable platforms
- Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or related technologies
- Deep understanding of cloud security principles, identity and access management, and governance practices
- Experience implementing monitoring, observability, alerting, and operational support processes
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
