[Remote] Cloud / Systems Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Softthink Solutions is seeking a Cloud / Systems Engineer to support a federal government customer. The role is responsible for administering, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure, servers, enterprise applications, and Windows/Linux systems across GCP, AWS, and/or Azure environments.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support GCP, AWS, and/or Azure cloud environments
- Support Google Workspace, including Gmail, Drive, Shared Drives, Groups, Meet, and user administration
- Manage cloud servers, virtual machines, storage, networking, users, roles, and permissions
- Monitor system availability, performance, security, backups, and infrastructure health
- Troubleshoot cloud, server, network, authentication, and application issues
- Support Windows and Linux systems, patching, upgrades, and routine maintenance
- Assist with security configurations and vulnerability remediation
- Support application deployments, migrations, backup, and recovery activities
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
- Work with application, network, cybersecurity, help desk, and government customer teams
Skills
- 5-10+ years of cloud, systems administration, or infrastructure support experience
- Hands-on experience with GCP, AWS, and/or Azure
- Experience with Google Workspace administration
- Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux systems
- Knowledge of cloud networking, identity/access management, monitoring, security, backup, and recovery
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills
- Bachelors in IT or related technologies
- Federal government IT support experience
- Familiarity with NIST, FISMA, RMF, and ATO environments
- Experience with Google Cloud Identity, IAM, monitoring, Active Directory, or Microsoft Entra ID
- Google Cloud, Google Workspace, AWS, Azure, or CompTIA certifications are a plus
