[Remote] Data Engineer SME

They are seeking a Data Engineer SME to provide strategic leadership and architectural direction for FEMA-wide data engineering initiatives, focusing on enterprise data lakes and AI/ML pipelines.
Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise data architecture strategy
- Oversee cloud-native data platform design and governance
- Provide guidance on high-scale ingestion, streaming, and orchestration
- Support enterprise data governance councils and cross-agency initiatives
- Advise leadership on emerging technologies and modernization
Skills
- At least 10 years of experience in a related role
- Expert-level data engineering and cloud data architecture
- Deep knowledge of compliance frameworks for federal data
- Ability to influence enterprise-level decision-making
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- AWS/Azure/GCP Data certifications
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain Public Trust
- Active Public Trust is preferred
- FEMA Public Trust is highly preferred
