[Remote] Distribution Sales Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Sport Dimension Inc. is hiring a Distribution Sales Manager to build and manage distributor sales channels for its water sports, life jacket and safety, and toy lines. The role also owns sales of its Paddle Pals Learn to Swim line and manages channel forecasting, pipeline reporting, and trade show representation.
Responsibilities
- Recruit, sign and set up distributors for our water sports, life jacket and safety, and toy lines in channels we barely reach or don't reach today: marine, pool and spa, RV and campgrounds, parks and resorts, schools, camps and recreation, and grocery, drug and toy
- Learn our life jackets and safety products well enough to sell them: what is Coast Guard approved, who buys it, and how distributors carry it
- Qualify each one: what they carry, who they sell to, and whether they overlap with our direct retail accounts
- Negotiate programs and terms with the VP of Sales & Marketing
- Keep them buying: seasonal programs, order follow-up with customer service, reorders, and regular business reviews
- Find new distributor channels for new categories as our line grows, and bring what you hear in the market back to the product team
- Own sales of our Paddle Pals Learn to Swim line to swim schools, aquatic centers, YMCAs, parks and recreation departments, swim clubs, pool supply dealers and specialty stores
- Know the line cold: sizes, weight ratings, what is Coast Guard approved and what is not, and which claims we can and cannot make
- Support our sales team's retail pitches with line sheets, samples and sell-through data
- Keep a clean pipeline and report on it weekly
- Build a yearly forecast by channel and work with our planning team on what to buy
- Represent us at trade shows and on the road
Skills
- 7 to 10 years in B2B sales, with at least 5 at a supplier selling through distributors
- Comfortable working alone: you plan your own time and follow through without being chased
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets, and a clear, short email
- Having personally signed new distributors, not only serviced existing ones, is a strong plus
- Experience with water sports, marine, aquatics, pool, toy, outdoor, RV or safety distributors is a strong plus
