[Remote] Platform Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Senior Platform Engineer will build scalable cloud platforms and infrastructure, develop Infrastructure as Code and Kubernetes solutions, and create automated, reusable platform capabilities for engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Design and build scalable cloud platforms and infrastructure from the ground up
- Develop robust Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform
- Build reusable and standardized Terraform modules and infrastructure components
- Design, build, and configure Kubernetes platforms and clusters for enterprise workloads
- Build cloud-native infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Develop automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, deployment, and lifecycle management
- Build reusable platform capabilities that enable development teams to deploy applications efficiently
- Design and implement CI/CD and GitOps-based deployment frameworks
- Build and maintain Kubernetes components including namespaces, RBAC, networking, ingress, storage, secrets, and workload configurations
- Develop and implement Helm charts and reusable Kubernetes deployment patterns
- Build cloud networking and security components including VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, IAM, security groups, and related services
- Automate end-to-end infrastructure provisioning and application platform onboarding
- Establish engineering standards and reusable patterns for cloud and Kubernetes environments
- Work with architecture and development teams to translate application requirements into scalable platform solutions
- Build observability, monitoring, logging, and reliability capabilities into the platform
- Continuously improve platform architecture, automation, scalability, security, and developer experience
Skills
- Experience: 12+ Years
- • 12+ years of hands-on experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
- • Very strong hands-on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience
- • Expert-level Terraform experience , including:
- • Building reusable Terraform modules
- • Terraform state management
- • Remote state
- • Workspaces
- • Provider management
- • Complex infrastructure provisioning
- • Infrastructure automation
- • Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience , with proven experience building and implementing Kubernetes platforms
- • Strong experience with Docker and containerization
- • Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- • Strong programming/scripting experience with Python, Bash, Go, or similar languages
- • Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
- • Experience with Helm and Kubernetes-native tooling
- • Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, IAM, compute, storage, and managed cloud services
- • Experience designing highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure
- • Build-focused Platform Engineer , not primarily an operations/support engineer
- • Strong hands-on Terraform + IaC expertise
- • Strong hands-on Kubernetes platform build experience
- • Strong cloud infrastructure engineering background
- • Proven experience automating and standardizing infrastructure
- • Ability to design solutions and write the code/configuration to build them
- • Experience building reusable platforms and frameworks for engineering teams
- • Strong problem-solving and architecture skills with a hands-on engineering mindset
- • Experience with GitOps, Argo CD, Flux, or similar technologies
- • Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service platforms
- • Experience with Backstage or similar developer portal technologies
- • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Dynatrace, or similar observability platforms
- • Experience with Kubernetes operators and custom resources
- • Experience with Go is a plus
- • Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd
- • Strong understanding of DevSecOps and cloud security
- • Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud platforms
