[Remote] Quant Product Designer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Solios Digital Energy is building a financial marketplace for the digital energy economy. The Quant Product Designer will design and validate electricity-market financial products, including perpetual futures tied to wholesale electricity prices and congestion, while developing pricing, risk, benchmark, and settlement methodologies. The role also involves analyzing power markets, working with engineers and quantitative researchers, and validating product demand with market participants.
Responsibilities
- Design perpetual futures tied to wholesale electricity prices, congestion, and source-to-sink spreads
- Identify nodes, hubs, zones, and transmission paths for product launches
- Define contract specifications, settlement methodologies, pricing references, and risk parameters
- Develop products that complement FTRs, CRRs, swaps, and other congestion-risk instruments
- Translate complex electricity-market risks into products that are easy for market participants to understand and trade
- Design pricing formulas and methodologies for electricity and congestion-linked perpetual futures
- Build transparent, manipulation-resistant pricing frameworks
- Integrate and normalize ISO/RTO market data feeds for pricing and benchmark calculations
- Conduct backtesting, simulations, and scenario analysis to validate product performance
- Design margin frameworks, risk controls, automated margin calls, liquidation processes, and position limits
- Partner with engineers and quantitative researchers to build pricing and risk infrastructure
- Analyze congestion patterns, transmission constraints, FTR/CRR markets, outages, topology, generation, and load trends
- Identify transmission paths with meaningful risk, liquidity, and commercial demand
- Evaluate how data-center growth, renewable penetration, storage, and transmission constraints create hedging opportunities
- Interview traders, utilities, hedge funds, market makers, and large power consumers to validate product demand
- Design transparent, reproducible electricity-price and congestion benchmarks
- Define methodology, reference nodes, weighting schemes, and calculation processes
- Work with engineers and data providers to automate benchmark calculations and publication
- Recommend initial markets, nodes, hubs, and transmission paths
- Design and validate Solios' first congestion and electricity-price products
- Establish benchmark methodologies and data processes
- Recruit traders, market makers, and commercial hedgers for feedback
- Build a roadmap for future electricity, congestion, and AI-powered energy products
- Help establish Solios as a leading innovator in electricity-market risk management
