[Remote] Senior Software Engineer - System Programming (Zig/C++)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Lightpanda is building an open-source headless web browser designed for AI agents, large-scale scraping, and automated workflows. The company is seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer to develop the browser, improve its quality and scalability, enhance its V8 JavaScript engine bindings, and implement Web APIs and the Chrome DevTools Protocol in Zig.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a team of engineers to design, build, test, and document the browser
- Improve the quality, efficiency, scalability, and stability of the browser
- Improve the binding framework with V8 JS engine
- Implement Web APIs and Chrome Devtools Protocol in Zig
Skills
- • Experience with system programming/low level language Zig, C++, C
- • Familiarity with Web APIs and front-end JS technologies
- • Comfortable working on an open source project and interacting with the community
- • Ability to give and process constructive feedback, as well as work independently
- • Flexibility to adjust to the dynamic nature of a startup
- • Familiarity with the internals of JavaScript runtimes (v8 or other) is a plus
