[Remote] Simulation Engineer #26406
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with an automotive manufacturing organization, is seeking a Simulation Engineer to develop manufacturing simulation models and analyze production systems. The role focuses on evaluating capacity, throughput, bottlenecks, material flow, and optimization opportunities using Autodesk FlexSim, while collaborating with engineering teams on production system design.
Responsibilities
- Build discrete event simulation models in Autodesk FlexSim for manufacturing and material flow applications
- Develop models for production lines, inter-process buffers, automated storage systems, material movement, and factory flow
- Translate production demand, shift patterns, product mix, first-pass yield, MTBF/MTTR, and process requirements into simulation scenarios
- Perform scenario, sensitivity, and experiment analyses using FlexSim Experimenter
- Analyze throughput, capacity, overspeed, OEE/TEE, buffer sizing, work-in-process, and jobs-per-shift requirements
- Identify production bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and manufacturing risks through simulation
- Prepare technical reports and presentations documenting throughput, capacity, space, and operational trade-offs
- Partner with factory layout, material flow, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering teams to support production system design
Skills
- 3+ years of automotive manufacturing engineering experience
- Direct ownership of discrete event simulation projects within a manufacturing environment
- Expert-level proficiency with Autodesk FlexSim
- Hands-on experience developing discrete event simulation models for multi-line assembly systems, buffers, rework loops, and material flow
- Experience modeling stochastic manufacturing behavior including equipment failures, repair events, and process variability
- Advanced knowledge of manufacturing throughput and capacity analysis, including JPH, JPS, OEE/TEE, MTBF/MTTR, WIP, bottleneck analysis, and buffer sizing
- Experience cleaning, structuring, and preparing manufacturing data for simulation modeling
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Experience with FlexScript
- Programming experience with Python or C++
- Experience supporting greenfield manufacturing facilities or major production capacity expansions
- Experience developing simulations for automated material handling, storage systems, and vehicle or component manufacturing processes
- Industrial Engineering experience within high-volume manufacturing environments
