[Remote] Social Media Manager
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Male Trauma Matters (MTM) is a nonprofit focused on male trauma and mental health awareness. The remote volunteer Social Media Manager grows MTM’s social media presence by planning and publishing trauma-informed content, engaging audiences, promoting initiatives, and using analytics to refine strategy.
Responsibilities
- This remote volunteer Social Media Manager role supports MTM’s mission by managing and growing its presence across social media platforms
- The Social Media Manager will plan and execute content calendars, create and publish posts, stories, and campaigns that align with MTM’s brand and advocacy goals, and ensure messaging is trauma-informed and sensitive to diverse lived experiences
- Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring social channels, responding to comments and messages, engaging with followers and partners, and optimizing content for reach and engagement
- The role also involves collaborating with MTM leadership and volunteers to promote events, educational programs, and initiatives; tracking analytics to refine strategy; and staying current with social media trends and best practices in nonprofit and mental health communication
Skills
- Candidates should possess strong Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) skills to manage campaigns and improve reach and engagement
- Candidates should possess effective Communication and Writing skills to craft clear, empathetic, and accurate messages across platforms
- Candidates should possess Content Strategy skills to plan, organize, and align social media content with MTM's mission and initiatives
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate virtually with a small volunteer team
- Experience with trauma-informed communication, mental health or nonprofit work, and sensitivity to diverse communities is highly beneficial
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools, basic graphic design or video editing, and interest in advocacy or community outreach is a plus
