[Remote] Software Engineer III
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Dice is recruiting a Software Engineer III for a contract role focused on application security remediation and modernization. The engineer will work across .NET applications, front-end and back-end components, SQL Server databases, SSIS packages, SSRS reports, and legacy web technologies while conducting testing and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Remediate security vulnerabilities in applications built on .NET Framework 4.8 and .NET Core
- Upgrade or migrate .NET Framework 4.8 applications to .NET Core when appropriate
- Complete front-end and back-end application changes
- Analyze and modify SQL Server databases, queries, and related application components
- Maintain and remediate SSIS packages and SSRS reports
- Update applications that use jQuery and other legacy web technologies
- Conduct functional, performance, and security testing following remediation
- Confirm that vulnerabilities have been resolved without affecting application stability or performance
- Troubleshoot technical issues across application, database, integration, and reporting layers
- Collaborate with architects, developers, security teams, and other technical stakeholders
- Work with urgency while maintaining code quality, security, and application reliability
- Remain available during the team's core business hours
Skills
- At least six years of professional software-development experience
- Strong hands-on experience with .NET Framework 4.8
- Strong development experience with .NET Core
- Experience developing both front-end and back-end application components
- Strong SQL Server development and troubleshooting experience
- Hands-on experience with SSIS
- Hands-on experience with SSRS
- Experience maintaining or modernizing applications using jQuery
- Experience resolving application-security vulnerabilities
- Experience performing functional, performance, and security testing
- Ability to independently evaluate legacy code and implement secure remediation solutions
- Strong communication skills and the ability to ramp up quickly
- Eight or more years is preferred
