[Remote] Software Engineer - Remote
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. GeorgiaTEK Systems Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and maintain integrations involving Basis International Progression/5, Pro/5, BBx, and BBj technologies. The role requires working with custom code bases, formal SDLC processes, Microsoft SQL Server, and system integrations using technologies such as HTTP, XML, and RPC.
Skills
- 1. 10+ years of recent development experience specifically with the Basis International languages ofProgression/5 (BBx, Pro/5) and Business Basic for Java (BBJ)
- A. Recent: They are actively developing in these technologies and have been for 10+ years
- B. Development experience means 80% of the time actively adding new features/capabilities vs. break-fix or small enhancements from production support issues
- C. Current usage of BBj is to support integrations, not graphical user interfaces
- 2. Experience with Integrations in/out of a Pro/5 system (i.e., HTTP, XML, RPC)
- 3. Demonstrated experience with learning a custom code base they didn't develop
- 4. Experience developing based on specifications developed by others and working in a formal SDLC environment
- 5. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and creating SQL queries to assist with troubleshooting
- 1. (Plus) Experience in Hospitality / Vacation Ownership industry
- 2. (Plus) Development experience with both Progression/5 and BBj enabling system-to-system integrations
- 3. (Plus) Unix/Linux shell scripting experience
- 4. (Optional) Experience with other Business Basic variants such as Thoroughbred BASIC, ProvideX (now PxPlus), MAI OpenBasic
- 5. (Optional) Experience using external logging platforms for troubleshooting - Splunk / Dynatrace
