[Remote] Technical Program Manager – Data Engineering / Data Platforms
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. VS2 Technology is seeking a Technical Program Manager focused on data engineering and data platforms. The role will lead large-scale data platform migration programs, manage multiple engineering teams and workstreams, coordinate technical and business stakeholders, and oversee roadmaps, dependencies, risks, cutover, and executive reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead a large-scale data platform migration program from planning through completion
- Manage multiple data engineering teams and parallel workstreams
- Build and maintain program roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues
- Coordinate engineering, data governance, analytics, and business stakeholders
- Drive execution of phased data migration initiatives
- Partner with engineering leadership on technical dependencies and delivery constraints
- Manage cutover, transition, and change-management activities
- Provide executive-level reporting on program health, risks, issues, and dependencies
- Drive accountability across teams through influence rather than direct authority
- Facilitate technical and cross-functional discussions and drive decisions to closure
Skills
- The ideal candidate has managed technical programs involving data engineering, data platforms, data migrations, data pipelines, data warehouses, analytics platforms, or data transformation
- You do not need to be a developer or write code. However, you must be technically fluent enough to:
- • Work directly with data engineers
- • Understand data engineering terminology and concepts
- • Discuss data pipelines, data platforms, dependencies, schemas, and migrations
- • Understand cloud data warehouse environments
- • Follow technical architecture and engineering discussions
- • Identify technical risks and dependencies
- • Translate technical issues into clear business and executive-level communication
- ✅ Direct experience managing programs/projects involving data engineering teams
- ✅ Experience with data platforms or data platform migrations
- ✅ Understanding of modern data architecture and data engineering concepts
- ✅ Experience with data warehouses, data pipelines, data transformation, analytics, or related data technologies
- ✅ Experience working with cloud data platforms
- ✅ Ability to communicate effectively with data engineers and technical leadership
- ✅ Strong program/project management experience across multiple teams
- ✅ Experience presenting to senior and executive stakeholders

- • Experience with dbt or similar data transformation technologies
