About the Job Outlier, an AI training platform owned and operated by Scale AI, is seeking detail-oriented English speakers for the Video Editor – AI Video Evaluation (Remote) opportunity. This freelance role involves evaluating AI-generated images, videos, and audio, interacting with AI voice models, and providing detailed feedback to improve AI system performance. Contributors will review AI-generated media, identify quality issues, compare outputs against prompts, and explain their evaluations in clear written English. Work is fully remote with a flexible schedule and no minimum weekly hours.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct live, scenario-based conversations in English with AI voice models. Evaluate and rank AI-generated voice conversations based on naturalness, clarity, and usefulness. Compare AI-generated images and videos to determine which better follows the given prompt. Inspect visual outputs closely to identify issues such as distorted anatomy, unnatural movement, flickering, and text errors. Evaluate audio and video synchronization and identify mismatched sounds. Rate outputs based on prompt adherence, quality, and realism. Write specific, evidence-based explanations describing identified issues. Label first-person videos featuring people or robots performing practical tasks. Divide video clips into individual actions and create accurate captions, reviewing and correcting AI-generated drafts. Evaluate AI-generated speech for naturalness, pronunciation, and voice consistency.
Required Qualifications
Fluent English-speaking ability. Strong written communication skills. Comfortable with natural, everyday English conversations. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to carefully inspect images, videos, and audio by zooming in or replaying content. Ability to identify visual, audio, and motion-related inconsistencies. Comfortable discussing realistic situations naturally and confidently. Experience writing short, evidence-based explanations or reviews. Ability to make clear decisions even when both options have quality issues.
Preferred Qualifications
Pursuing or holding a Bachelor's degree or higher. Experience with video editing, media evaluation, image analysis, or audio assessment may be beneficial, although specific professional experience is not stated as mandatory. Compensation and Payment Earnings: Up to $15 USD per hour Additional earning opportunities include: Missions Incentives: Contributors earn an average additional 7.5% through Outlier's Missions program.
