POSITION SUMMARY Sikich is seeking an experienced Interim CFO Consultant to support a rapidly growing semiconductor company following the unexpected departure of its CFO. This engagement is expected to begin immediately and will initially span approximately three months, with the potential to extend through the client's first external audit cycle ending March 31. The organization has recently implemented Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Rippling, and requires a senior finance leader to assess accounting operations, resolve system and reporting issues, support quarter-end close activities, strengthen financial processes, and help prepare the company for audit readiness and potential future transaction or investment events. This position can be performed remotely, with preference given to candidates located in or near the Chicago area. What will you do in this role? Lead and support the completion of quarter-end and month-end close activities. Assess accounting, financial reporting, and operational finance processes to identify areas for improvement. Investigate expense reporting discrepancies and system integration issues between Microsoft Dynamics Business Central and Rippling. Ensure financial statements and reporting are aligned with U.S. GAAP standards. Partner with company leadership to improve internal controls, reporting accuracy, and audit preparedness. Help prepare the organization for its first external audit and support interactions with external auditors. Develop scalable financial processes and reporting structures to support continued growth. Provide strategic financial leadership while remaining hands-on with accounting and operational finance activities as needed. Support potential transaction readiness initiatives, including private equity investment, acquisition, or sale preparation. What do you need to succeed in this role? 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience. Prior experience serving as a CFO, VP Finance, Corporate Controller, or similar finance executive role. Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit readiness. Experience leading organizations through periods of rapid growth, transformation, or organizational change. Proven ability to work both strategically and tactically in a small-company environment. Experience managing accounting clean-up projects, financial process improvements, and close optimization initiatives. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with executive leadership, investors, lenders, auditors, and board members. Experience supporting transaction readiness, private equity-backed companies, capital raises, M&A activities, or sale processes.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central . Experience integrating ERP and HRIS platforms and resolving data integrity issues. Prior experience preparing a company for its first external audit. Semiconductor, technology, manufacturing, or high-growth company experience. Previous experience supporting private equity investment, recapitalization, acquisition, or exit transactions. In compliance with state pay transparency laws, the anticipated hourly pay range for this role is $100 - $125 per hour , depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
