Join Our Amazing TeamResponsible for supporting the Legal Department in managing key processes, lawsuits, and contested matters, ensuring timely and appropriate actions in compliance with company policies and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.The target pay range for this position is $75,000.00 to $95,000.00What You'll Do :Open and maintain matters in case management system, including handling incoming mail and service of process.Assist in reviewing pleadings served by third parties, including but not limited to, summons, complaints, affidavits, answers, motions, orders and judgments.Assist in reviewing pleadings prepared by outside counsel, including but not limited to, summons, complaints, affidavits, answers, motions, orders and judgments.Assist with preparing discovery responses and coordinating with business units.Review various legal documents for accuracy and completeness including gathering information required, making corrections and resolving discrepancies.Manage document subpoenas by collecting responsive records and preparing formal responses.Oversee the full lifecycle of capped fee and non-material matters, ensuring proper opening, referring, monitoring and closure.Secure key personnel for mediations, depositions, and other events that require in person, telephonic or virtual appearances.Coordinate and manage correspondence with outside counsel, third-party entities, and business units in a timely and appropriate manner.Provide legal and administrative support to departmental staff, including scheduling meetings, managing phone communications and assisting with projects.Maintain calendar of events and key deadlines.Conduct factual research including gathering relevant information from a variety of resources.Assist with resolving cases by gathering and organizing information needed for assessing settlement opportunities and preparing draft requests for settlement approval.Prepare check requests, vendor payee forms, IT access and change forms, and FedEx labels.Serves as liaison between outside counsel, internal departments, in-house attorneys, and other stakeholders.Conduct pre-claim title review including reviewing title records, organizing documents, creating chronologies, preparing and submitting title claims, monitoring for response from insurers and working with carrier retained counsel.Ensure compliance with outside counsel guidelines and oversee adherence to loan servicing agreements and delegated authority matrixes.Create, maintain, and deliver weekly, monthly and quarterly matter related reports.Resolve routine legal issues under the guidance of senior legal personnel.What You'll Need :Ability to work well in a collaborative environment.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.A solid working knowledge of mortgage servicing, lending and litigation.Proficient with Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams.Strong analytical and organizational skills.Ability to work with outside counsel, investors, vendors, business units and legal department personnel.Ability to understand complex problems, pay close attention to details, take notes, and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions.Skilled in assessing decisions with potential impact on the immediate team, while proactively monitoring broader organizational effects.Ability to accurately track and record time.Ability to operate independently and be proactive before issues arise.Associate's degree from accredited college and paralegal certification or a bachelor's degree from accredited college required.Two (2) or more years' experience working as a paralegal.Two (2) or more years' experience working in the mortgage banking industry.Two (2) or more years' experience working within litigation case management system, preferably Legal Tracker.Our Company :Carrington Mortgage Holdings is a holding company whose primary businesses include asset management, mortgages, real estate transactions and real estate logistics.Collectively, the businesses are vertically and horizontally integrated, and provide a broad range of real estate services encompassing nearly all aspects of single-family residential real estate transactions in the United States.What We Offer :Comprehensive healthcare plans for you and your family.Plus, a discretionary 401(k) match of 50% of the first 4% of pay contributed.Access to several fitness, restaurant, retail (and more!) discounts through our employee portal.Customized training programs to help you advance your career.Employee referral bonuses so you'll get paid to help Carrington and Vylla grow.Educational Reimbursement.Carrington Charitable Foundation contributes to the community through causes that reflect the interests of Carrington Associates.Notice to all applicants :Carrington does not do interviews or make offers via text or chat Carrington is an equal opportunity employer..
