[Remote] Senior Data/Platform Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Data/Platform Engineer to join a healthcare technology organization. The role will rebuild and modernize the company’s data pipeline, develop integrations and event-driven services, manage AWS infrastructure, and establish reliable operational standards for production data systems.
Responsibilities
- Rebuild and modernize a legacy data pipeline, creating scalable and reliable ingestion, processing, and storage solutions
- Design and develop integrations for APIs, vendor file feeds, BigQuery, and other external data sources
- Build event-driven services and ETL processes using Python, Node.js, or similar technologies
- Develop and manage AWS infrastructure utilizing Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization best practices
- Establish observability, monitoring, lineage tracking, and operational standards for production data systems
- Lead data migration, reconciliation, backfill, and cutover efforts while ensuring data accuracy and integrity
Skills
- 7+ years of experience building and supporting large-scale data platforms, backend systems, or data engineering environments
- Proven experience re-architecting, modernizing, or rebuilding data pipelines, data platforms, or infrastructure from the ground up
- Strong experience with Python, Node.js, Go, TypeScript, or similar backend development technologies
- Deep knowledge of ETL processes, data pipelines, event-driven architectures, and system integrations
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies
- Advanced SQL and data warehousing expertise with Redshift, Snowflake, or similar platforms
